Export von südafrikanischen Löwen stoppen

Lend your voice to lions

The 2015 award-winning documentary "Blood Lions" exposed South Africa’s cruel lion breeding industry, where between 6,000-8,000 lions are suffering on South African breeding farms. Bred for cub petting, lion walks, trophy hunting, and the lion bone trade, these lions will never experience life in the wild. Now the South African government is proposing to grant the cruel lion breeding industry the right to export the skeletons of 800 African lions every year, mostly to southeast Asia for medicinal purposes.

Lion biologists warn that captive-bred lion bone trade can be detrimental to wild lion populations because it increases demand and incentivizes poaching of wild lions. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has also called for the complete termination of captive lion breeding for commercial, non-conservation purposes.

The time is now to end the trade
in captive-bred lion parts and to shut down this industry!
