Zitat von Quelle: >>>Ringling Brothers has made a huge announcement. They will be closing down after more than 100 years in operation. During the century that they have been in operation, countless animals have suffered abuse and extreme confinement.

The final performances will be in May 2017 but it is not clear what will happen to all the animals that are still with the circus after that time.

Please sign this petition to urge Feld Entertainment, the owners of the Ringling Brothers Circus, to release all remaining animals to reputable sanctuaries. We need to prevent the further confinement and abuse of these sensitive animals.<<<

Export von südafrikanischen Löwen stoppen

Zitat von Quelle: >>>

Lend your voice to lions

The 2015 award-winning documentary "Blood Lions" exposed South Africa’s cruel lion breeding industry, where between 6,000-8,000 lions are suffering on South African breeding farms. Bred for cub petting, lion walks, trophy hunting, and the lion bone trade, these lions will never experience life in the wild. Now the South African government is proposing to grant the cruel lion breeding industry the right to export the skeletons of 800 African lions every year, mostly to southeast Asia for medicinal purposes.

Lion biologists warn that captive-bred lion bone trade can be detrimental to wild lion populations because it increases demand and incentivizes poaching of wild lions. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has also called for the complete termination of captive lion breeding for commercial, non-conservation purposes.

The time is now to end the trade
in captive-bred lion parts and to shut down this industry!

Plastikbesteck abschaffen

Zitat von Quelle: >>>

Sehr geehrte Frau Hendricks,

Zitat von Quelle: >>>Each year elephants are being abused in horrible ways at the Surin Elephant Round-up festival in Thailand. This festival is held every year in Surin Province, Isan, Thailand, usually during the third week of November. The origins are in the royal hunts. The resident of Surin have been practicioners of corralling elephants and training them as working animals. The event now includes shows like soccer games and tugs of war with the Royal Thai Army.

Unfortunately, the elephants are living a nightmare. They are stabbed repeatedly with huge sharp hooks and pulled or squeezed by their ears. They are teased, stabbed and have horrible scars on their body. Tourists take rides on them with their foreheads covered in blood. Even when no one is watching they have to perform tricks. This kind of torture is called Phajaan or crushing.

When they can, they stand close to each other, trying to comfort one another. Their eyes are full of fear, pain, loneliness, sadness and despair. They feel like they are hated by everyone, like nobody loves them and they are alone. They don't want to live this terrible life they don't deserve. The animals get little sleep, water and food so they don't have much energy and they are starving. many die because of these conditions.

When they are not performing, they are chained by their both front feet, unable to walk. The young elephants are taken away from their mothers way too soon and tortured.<<<
